The Tall Tree Awards is a recognition given to Palo Alto citizens, nonprofits, and businesses for outstanding civic contributions and services to the community.

The full list of this year’s awardees are Rich Green, chair of the new Palo Alto History Museum; the Rev. Kaloma Smith, pastor at University AME Zion Church; AchieveKids, a nonprofit that provides special education services; and Alta Mesa Cemetery, a non-demonational burial ground and funeral home that has supported numerous community nonprofits. In addition, longtime public servants, former U.S. Rep. Anna Eshoo and former state legislator and local lawmaker Joe Simitian will be honored for their years of service.


AchieveKids is the winner in the Outstanding Nonprofit category

For over 65 years, AchieveKids has been educating the most complex learners in special education to empower and give them the skills they need to have the best quality of life possible. AchieveKids thanks @paloaltochamberofcommerce for this incredible award!
